    The fiddle and the spade...

    The fiddle and the spade
    is pushing for the lade.
    But the difference is great
    between them.
    Those who cultivate gives
    the sluggard food to eat
    And gives the poor lodging
    late in the evening.
    This verse was obtained from Mrs Callanan Greenhouse Craughwell who is now 89 years of age. The verse was composed by a man named Callanan who lived in Craughwell
