    "A Phoenix Park hurling Final."
    The poem refers to Alfie Jones who was a county-hurler and was counted as the best player. The Jones family lived about one mile to the east of Loughrea. The family is now dead. The first four lines of the poem are on the same code as the first four lines of the "Minstral Boy".
