  1. How many people passing along the road to Cloonbern are aware that at Hilltula they pass where in the days of an old school for versing Brehans in the native laws were established.
    It was under the tutorships of the famous Egans - the noted Lawyers of Irelands olden days.
    What a wonderful place it must have been and what wonderful laws were made. Indeed some of the Brehon Laws would be badly wanted at presant.
    Nothing remains at Hilltula to day but a mould, to remind us of its past History.
