To the second meal they took fish and potatoes. They also ate many kinds of vegetables. The people ate late at night. Certain kinds of food were eaten on certain occasions. It was the custom at Easter to make a fire outside and boil eggs and make the tea on the fire. At Hallow Eve the people used to eat apples and nuts and dress up and go out at night and throw turnips or cabbage at the door.

  2. In olden times every Halloweve night the people used to put salt and oatmeal on the heads in the form of a cross after sunset. They believed that this would keep away the fairies. Another thing they used to do was when they were ready to go to bed
