- My mother was telling me about a ship called the "Saldanha". She was an English man-o'-war.
The "Saldanha" was lost early in December in the year 1811. She left Rathmullan late in the evening with 300 navy-man on board. Then when she was near Port-Salon a terrible storm arose. They were all drowned except one man. He swam to Stockers Shore and died on dry land.- Collector
