The place is not mentioned in any old saying or song as far as I know.
Most of the land around the place is poor. It is marshy and unfit for cultivation but there is some good land to the east of the place at Kilbeg. There is a belt of woodland from the church in Kill to the carpenter's house in Sleveen. There is a lake about a mile from the place. There was a woman drowned there one night some years ago. She is buried near the cemetery gate in Kill. There is a river near.- Collector
