  1. There is a castle in this district and it is called Strancally Castle. The owner of it now is Mr. Lynch but it is not known who was the owner of it long ago. It is more than 400 years old. It is not known who knocked it. There was never any story told about it. There is an old monastery in Mount Melleray. It is not know how old it is.
