    There was a ship wrecked over in Strancally about fourteen or fifteen years ago.

    There was a ship wreck over in Strancally about fourteen or fifteen years ago. This was a big steamer coming up the Blackwater and it got wrecked near Strancally Castle. There was not many drowned in it. A boat went out to rescue the crew of the ship but it was of no use. the ship sank. There was never any more heard of it since.
