  1. "In a field owned by Mr. Martin Geraghty, Creggane, Backs, Co. Mayo, there was a mill about fifty years ago. The field is situated along the Great Southern Railway at a point about a quarter of a mile south of Ballina station.
The mill was owned by a man named Mr. Fall. He lived in Ballina Co. Mayo. He and his daughter worked in it pressing clothes. It was worked by the water of a canal which flows nearby. They were not doing much and so it was closed down in the year 1878. It was in use for about ten years."
