    place is called "Baile Suas". There is another old fort in Francis Dogherties field where there was an ancient Urn found. There is a standing stone with Ogham written on the two sides of it. The land is sandy and it is nearly all reclaimed land. The principal crops grown in it are potatoes and oats. Beet is grown in some parts of the village.
