  1. If a man sees a black frog when he is digging, there will be wet, stormy weather.
    Most people like to see a wet Winter, because it forecasts a fine Summer.
    It is a sign of a fine year, to see birds, and especially crows and rooks building nests high up on a tree. If they build low in the tree it is a sign of a wet year.
    Rain is coming, and also a wet month, if the new moon is lying on its back. It is said to be "holding the water".
