and unlucky days of the week.
No person would put out the ashes on New Year's Day, for fear they would put out the luck for the year. Tuesdays and Wednesdays were the lucky days for getting married. People say that if a person comes in lighting a pipe, and to ask a coal during churning, that they would bring the butter. People did not give any milk away on May Day. The cross days of the year are known as the three first days after Christmas. Nobody gets married on those days.
