    Long ago, there was no change in the food the people had, but they thought it was a wonderful treat to have a cup of tea on Christmas night. At that time the people knew nothing about cups. They had wooden bowls, and it was out of these bowls they drank at their meal. They had potatoes very often. When the potatoes were boiled they were strained on a round flat basket called a "skib".
