  1. On the 31st of May 1900, a thatched dwelling house and outoffices owned by a family named O'Malley were burned.
    The fire started at ten oclock in the morning, and as most of the people in the neighbourhood were gone to a fair which ws held in Straide, no assistance was at hand and the place was gutted.
    It was a very stormy day, and it appears that the children were left alone in the house
