- There is only one forge in this parish. It is situated beside the school on the Keelogues road, and the smith name is John Miller. His father and grandfather were also smiths before him. At that time, the forges had straw roofs but now they have iron roofs.
Long ago there were four forges in the parish, one in Turlough, one in Broadfield and two in Keelogue. In those days the smiths made war weapons and they sometimes worked out in the air during the Summer.
