    were running like that all night they would not be worth much in the morning. So he thought that the best thing to do was to bring the cattle home.
    He brought the cattle to the gap but every time he did they were chased back again. At last he had to give it up and leave the cattle there. He came home very much put about and went to bed.
    At about three o'clock in the morning he got up and had breakfast. When he went to the field one of the cattle was lying and nearly dead. The other two could not be found. Pat came home and when it was day break he went out again and searched Barley Hill but there was no trace of the cattle or tidings of the cattle.
    He came home and had dinner. He went up to the field again and the other calf was lying there still. He went to the road and met the other two cattle, they were out and bleeding copiously. He puts them in the barn. He went up to
