top of the milk. Some people put a strainer down in the churn and if the flakes of butter can be lifted up in it the butter is made then. The butter is taken with butter spades. It is left on a big dish and it is salted. Then it is made into a roll or prints. The buttermilk is used for making cakes of bread. ~Some of it is given in pigs. There was no story in the district about making a churning.
