- A fair is a place where animals are sold. The fairs are held in generally big towns and cities. There are certain fairs for sheep, cattle, horses and pigs. The people get up very early in the morning if they are going to the fair, with the animal.
They put a sign on the animal. The jobbers come to the fair to buy animals. They use raddle, or they sometimes cut a little bit of the hair off the animals back for a mark. They also cut off a piece of the animals ear, as a sign that the animal is sold. When the bargain is made, they strike hands together.- Collector
