  1. There is a lake near Derryfad and a strange animal was once seen there by a man named Mr King. He was horrified at this sight and went home. The man was always quarreling with his wife and mother. Some days afterwards his wife and mother were found drowned in the lake. From that day onwards the lake was known as Lough na mna.
