  1. The potatoes are sown in drills in my district. The spade is used, which is bought in the shop. Fertilizer is used as manure. Some of the people help each other to set the crop. The crop is sprayed in summer.
    In the picking time the young girls and boys pick the potatoes. Then they are stored in pits made of grass scraws. The commonest potatoes are - The Arran Bannars, The Queens, The Golden Wonders, The Champions and The Kerr Pinks. The Champions grow best in my district.
