  1. This is a game that ten or twelve children take part in. They form into one big ring, and they select one to sit, in the middle. The girl, in the middle, closes her eyes and while the others are running around her they say
    Little Mary Ann
    Sitting on the sand
    Rise Sally rise
    Weep from your eyes
    Turn to the East
    Turn to the West
    Turn to the one
    That you love best
Then she catches one of them and the rest sing again.
    Now you are married.
    And you must obey
    Give her a kiss
    And send her away.
