    There was a landlord who had a herd working for him.

    There was a landlord who had a herd working for him. There was a child born to the herd.
    There was a travelling woman in the house this night, She went outside and she said when she came in, she said she could read from the stars that this child would be married to the landlord's daughter. The landlord heard this, and he was afraid this would come to pass, and that the people would have it to say that such a poor man's child would be married to his daughter.
    He made up his mind to go to the herd's house, he asked the herd and his wife would they be willing to sell their child. If they would, he would give them £150 and if they wouldn't sell him the child, he would turn them
