    woman. The people got an awful fright when they saw what happened. They all knew the woman well, of course, for she was a neighbouring woman.

    Wan day me mother was going out she told me to be sure and keep my hand on the cradle...

    Wan day me mother was going out she told me to be sure and keep my hand on the cradle and not let the child wake.
    I did as she told me but the child woke in spite of me, and started to cry.
    Me mother came back after a while. "Oh you devil you, why didn't you keep your hand on the cradle?" says she
    Well the child was crying until 12 oclock that night. This was a Friday. He got a sort of a whizzing and he died on Sunday at the very same hour. And one side was all black.
