  1. Gallonreagh contains four families in which live sexteen people.
Farrell is the name of the most common. There are two families of this name and only one of each of the others. About five years ago the whole houses were tathed. Each one had a kitchen and and room on every end but now they all have been raised and started except one.
The townland derives its name from its having so many large stones called galláns. Others say its name came from a big stone seated on four oters which was in one of the fields.
There are only three persons over seventy no irish speakers nor storytellers.
About twenty years ago three other families lived two O Reillys and one Finlay. These people died out. No song is connected with the townland.
