Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)he met a band of fairies on horseback. He was so much scared he left the creel he had for the turnips behind him.
Another instance connected with this fort is:- A man named Phil Carroll (Clonraw, Cootehill, Co. Cavan) went to plough the fort. A fairy came up to him and said "What makes you plough on the roof of my house." "Beg your pardon" said the man, "I did not know I was on the roof of your house. It is a pity to have this nice piece of land going to loss. I will make a bargain with you. I'll give you what grows under the ground this year and what grows over it next year." "Alright" said the fairy, "it is a bargain, plough away."
The man sowed corn that year and gave the fairy the roots and the next year he sowed potatoes and gave the fairy the tops. So the man fooled the fairy.- Bailitheoir
