It is a pity to have this nice piece of land going to loss. I will make a bargain with you. I'll give you what grows under the ground this year and what grows over it next year." "Alright" said the fairy, "it is a bargain, plough away."
    The man sowed corn that year and gave the fairy the roots and the next year he sowed potatoes and gave the fairy the tops. So the man fooled the fairy.
