A man named John Leonard a merchant in Arva has the cure of the mumps. Many children are brought to him to get cured. He brings each child to a pigsty and puts a pair of winkers with reins attached, on his head. he drives him around the pigsty nine times holding the child's arm in one hand and the reins in the other. While doing so he says prayers. the child has to get this done for two weeks, then the mumps are supposed to be cured
