Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Here is the way we play oranges and lemons. We get in a line except the two people who hold up each others hands in the form of an arch. One chooses a lemon and the other an orange. Then the other row of people go through the arch. The last person will choose which they will have the orange or the lemon. They then go behind the person who stands for which ever they have chosen. When all the players are on one side or the other a "tug-of-war," follows.
When we are going through the arch we sing the following rhyme.
    Oranges and Lemons,
    The bells of St Clements,
    You owe me a farthing,
So you must come to pay me,
    Today or to morrow,
    Here comes the lighter,
    To light you to bed,
    Here comes the chopper,
    To chop off your head,
