Those two forts are within a quarter of a mile of each other. The old people used to say that they often saw on a moon-light night a pack of hounds in full cry going from one fort to the other. It is dangerous to be benighted near those. A man who knew this locality was one night crossing and when he came between the two forts he found that he could not find his way out of the field and he had to remain in the field until day light. There are forts all over the country too numerous to mention. All the forts are circular in form and no person on whose land they are situated will ever interfere with them as
