  1. A Local Song

O' come all you jolly people and listen to my song, ¶ I'll sing for you a verse of two

One of our local songs called "The Borrisokane Dramatic Class" was composed by my father, Patrick Moore, Main St, Borrisokane, in 193 , the play was called "Professor Tim." It introduces every person who took part in the play and was sung by Michael Phelan (Bob) Chapel Rd, Borrisokane, who was the member of the Dramatic Class and consequently he is styled your humble servent. The song goes as follows to the air of "The Maid of the Sweet Browne Knowe."
    1
"O; come all you jolly people and listen to my song,
I'll sing for you a verse or two, which I know wont keep you long.
It's all about the Dramatic Class, the members you have just seen.
Who live up and down the town, from the Fairgreen to Kileen.
