- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)him with a dagger. The Landlord struck the horse and he galloped as fast as he could. The "Bricleach" was still after him and kept up to him until he came to Blackpool. Then he had to return but he was not long gone when the soldiers were after him; they followed him to Ballyhooly Here he came to a big cliff over the Blackwater and jumped to the other side of it. At the other side a woman was bittling clothes. When she saw the man jumping she was astonished and said to him. "That was a great leap my boy" "Ah maaam" said he. "If you only saw the running I had to it." Then he told the woman that the soldiers were after him and when they came to tell them that he was gone the other way. The soldiers came and asked the woman what direction was the man gone. She said "he is in Dublin now at the speed he was going" and told them that he was gone the other way so she put them off his track and saved him that day. Then he returned again to "Tory's bed" Then he got some sickness after a time and there was a woman taking care of him there and she went to Mallow for milk for him and she betrayed him to the soldiers and they came to where he was staying and cut him up in pieces and that was the end of Jerry Buckley or the "Bricleach"
