    and a family of Barrys lived in the district long ago. ANother place is Sallypark which got its name because there are a large number of Sally trees growing in it and park means a field. Highfort is so called because in it there is a height and a fort is built on the height.
    Tulladuff lies to the north-east of Liscarroll and got its name because in that district there is a bog in which black turf is to be found. Another district is Bloodvein and is so called because after the battle of Knocknanuss, the soldiers came to that district and they were wounded and left blood from their wounds and the place since then is called Bloodvein.
