- On the 6th June 1869. on the coast below Claggin bens on the Bunagee side of Culdaff Bay a ship was wrecked. There was a fearful storm blowing from the north. The captain's name was Fleming. They left Scotland with a cargo of coal and other things. It was said that the captain was drunk and compelled the man at the rudder to steer the vessel for the Claggin rocks.
