  1. One time Saint Colmcille was up in Desertagny. He happened to be walking along a river when he saw a group of herds roasting a lot of trout that they had caught in the river. He asked them for a trout and they said that they would not:- Then he kneeled down on his knees and prayed and he said that there would be no more trout caught in that river. And ever since there wasn't.
    One time when there came a chase on him he was in a bink hole and could not get out of it. He said "Anyone who doesn't leave a step at the head of the bink they shall have my curse on them.
    He prophecied also that there was going to be a war. The soldiers were to come marching in Pinch destroying before them. There was only to be three saved. A woman from Cloughfin and her two daughters, and they had to be be up at the foot of Cnoc na gCaora with a donkey and creels.
    He also prophecied that there was going to be a school master in the Glen house and a lame man in Dresden.
    Colmcille said that when a new road in Desertagny starts called Cloufin it is a sign that the war is near hand.
    St Colmcille was a time over in the east. He met a crowd of fairies and they asked him if they would get into heaven. And he said if the water in Curan na Gorha was the same colour in the next morning that they would get into heaven. And the next morning Curan na Gorha was changed and they did not get into heaven.
    A seige came on Colmcille one time and he was
