   Oh! how I long on Breffni hills my dear old home to see;
   To hear the blackbird among the bowers pour forth his gladsome tune,
   That echoed through the gloomy groves round lovely sweet Drumgoon.
   IV.
   'Twas there I spent my youthful days free from the clouds of care,
   Whe'er I roam naught please my heart like days spent roaming there;
   With comrades gay I fondly strayed each Sunday afternnon,
   Till the shades of night came falling over lovely sweet Drumgoon.
   V.
   Curse on the laws that force us on foreing shores to dwell,
   And leave green Erin's isle behind, the land we loved so well;
   Oh! God above this exile prayed may that bright day dawn soon,
   When freedom's sun will come beaming, lovely sweet Drumgoon.
