Mary Streahan was his mother. After a while he was killed at his own gate by a blow on the back of the head wiith a spade. They say that it was one of the men that were evicted that did it. His sons George and Charley Copeland built the house up high and slated the cabins. It was they also that improved the ditches and drained the land. The present owner W. Studdert is a nephew of the Copelands.
