  1. Tom Steel was a great engineer he drained the lake and he made a trench around it. He was going to build a town from the Sandhills to Mountrivers Bridge and to making a road around it into the court. The remains of the road can be seen there yet. In 1810 the court was built. One day he walked up to the Sandhills to see his work and he looked down at the court and he saw a white woman walking on top of the roof. He took to the bed afterwards and soon died.
