There are four forges in Clara. Mr. Grady's forge, Mr. Enis's forge, Mr. Handy's forge and Hogan's. Mr. Grady's forge and Mr. Hogan's forge is in the Green. Mr. Enis's forge is at the railway gates. Mr. Handy's forge is in river-street.
Mr. Handy's forge is the most comical gorge in all Ireland. It is made out of pieces of cardboard and pieces of tine and pieces of bags.

  2. By Jimmy Williams also,
About three years ago a house went on fire at night in Church Street. The people in the house did not know that it was on fire but the poeple in the next houses to them woke them, and they escaped out of the fire. It was caused by a sod in the chimney which caught fire.
