    The fairs are held in all the town, in Athlone; Tullamore; Killbeggan; Moate; Ferbane and Clara.
    They are held in the towns always.
    The buyers very seldom transact business in the country at cross -roads or at farmers' houses. There used to be fairs in Horseleap and in Ballycumber but they are not held now. The farmers failed to bring in stock.
    Fairs are held in the streets of towns but, there is a Green in some towns. There is no toll paid for cattle in this country. My father does no know to whom the toll was paid and he does not know how much "Luck" money is given for animals. It is called
