  1. The following are signs with regard to the weather in this vicinity.
When a red cloud appears before the sun rises it is a sure sign of coming rain. Or when the sun while going down appears very red it is a sign of good weather. When a large circle appears round the moon it is a sign of both good and bad weather.
The nearer the circle, the farther the rain.
The farther the circle, the nearer the rain.
If the stars appear very numerous and very bright in the sky at night it is the sign of frost.
When the wind blows from East it is a sign of snow. When it blows from the West it is a sign of good weather. When it blows from the North it is a sign of hardship. When it blows from the South it is a sign of rain.
When the cats come in from outside life and sit at the fire all day it is a sign of hardship. People say, that if a cat, while washing its face, puts its paw being its ear, is a sign of rain. If a cat or dog eats grass it is a sign of rain.
When swallows fly low it is another sign of rain.
