  1. In the Cromwellian plantation of this district of south Wicklow, the Pierce family claim to have received their land direct from Cromwell in return for military services rendered. There has always been an "Oliver" in every generation. The late Mr. Oliver Pierce sold his farm and it is now owned by Mr. J. Keating. It is situated at Ballythomas, Wicklow Gap and is in the parish of Kilpipe. (Co Wicklow)
