  1. Once upon a time in Ireland where the Shamrock grows there lived in Ireland a man who was very lucky.
    His barn was burned down by accident, because he was so careless as to drop a lighted match upon the hay. His horse was lame, because he forgot to get a new shoe for it. An old fox stole all his chickens because he was too tired to mend his henhouse. His crops failed because he did not attend to them. So you see that the fault was on himself and not luck but laziness.
