  1. About a mile outside Ballymahon on the Longford side there was a Castle owned by Lord Dungore. He was head over race horses for many years. But one day as he was riding a horse he fell off him and was killed. He was buried on his own land at the side of the castle. There were four chestnut trees planted each side of the grave. A few days after his death his ghost was seen going around same as ever riding his horse and he was saying:-
    "Here I am in Terlicken Lord Dungore dead and damed for ever more."
