  1. The old people had to learn all their prayers by heart for books were very scarce.
When they would arise in the morning they would say:- O Guardian angel I thank thee for another day, and that I got safely through the night.
When they would be getting out of bed they would say "I thank, Thee, Lord that I am able to rise.
When they would have said the rosary, at night they would say, O my God I thank thee for all the gifts which I have received from Thee and particulary those off this day.
When they would be getting into bed they would say:- O Guardian angel" keep evil away and protect me from a sudden death, this night.
When they would awake in the morning they would say:- O God who has caused us to reach another day save us to day by Thy power.
