Long ago they used to make ploughs, harrows, spades, picks and axes, but nowadays they dont.
The princial part of there work now is making shoes and shoeing horses.
The forge water is supposed to be the cure of the ricketts.
They have no privileges at anytime. The people does not send them gifts. They say that the smiths were very strong and looked upon.
All the tradition was that in Fenian times there were picks made at Whitestown forge.
The smith uses a hammer, and tongues and a sledge for holding the hot iron, and he also uses a iron chizzle for cutting the iron.
