  1. As St. Peter sat on on a marble stone
Jesus passed by and saw him alone
"What aileth they Peter? A tootache my Lord." "Rise up Peter, he said and take these words in my name,
"Jesus who healeth all ills, heal me" and thou shalt never have a toothache
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Old people claimed that when a person suffered a terrible pain from a headache, they maintained that the head used to open and as a remedy for it they used to measure the head two different ways and they could tell if the head had expanded.
They would then take a strip of calico and tighten it firmly across the forehead and smear the temples with vinegar.
