    Saturday in the Market.Milch cows are often on sale there too.Fairs are mostly held in towns and villages but the famous fair of Spancillhill is held four miles outside Ennis.
    Sometimes the buyers go out the roads the evening before a fair and meet people who have to come a distance with their horses and buy from them.
    Toll has to be paid for animals exhibited for sale in the fair green or the Market.it has to be paid to the Urban Council and is calculated at so much per head of cattle -6d for each cow,and for big cattle ,calves ,pigs,and sheep 3d each.
    Luck money is always given by the seller to the buyer.It is called a "luck penny"or luck 7/6 on a horse 2/6 to 5/- on a
