“There was a woman one time named Petticoat Loose.”
There was a woman one time named Petticoat Loose. Soon after her death she was seen at a lough called Bay Lough about six miles south of Clonmel, and she used to appear to everyone going the road. At times she would be seen combing or fixing her hair. Anyone that passed that way with a horse and car, or an ass and car that would not carry her she would try to have revenge on them. There was one certain man passing the road where she was, and several times she thought to kill him. One day as he was passing he went into a farmer's house. He brought in a basket full of turf, and put it in the fire. When one side of the sods got a little burned, he took it up and brought it out to the car.
When he came to the lough she came out and followed him.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
