There was a woman one time named Petticoat Loose.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
When she would be trying to catch him at one side he kept pelting the turf at her from the other side.
He beat her for a mile of the road with the turf until he came to a running stream that was across the road. She could not cross this stream . When he got across she said to him, "Stop, you are the best man that passed me since I was put here, and will you do a message for me?" "Ah," said he, "what message can I do for 'you' !. "Don't you be at my father's house every night? Wil you tell him that I am at this lough and that I am damned." The man said, I would be long sorry to do so. I I said that to your father, the first thing he would do is to cutt off my head." "Well," said she, "will you bring him a bit of a note? and dead or alive my father will know my hand writing." She wrote the note and threw it across the stream to him. He took it up and went that night to her father's house
