    Twelve days before Christmas.
    The old people believed that if you died twelve days before Christmas the Gate of Heaven would be open for you.
    St. Patrick's Day
    The old people made it a custom to go to town on St. Patrick's Day and get drunk. When they were coming home they used to say "O Poor holy Saint Patrick now I'm suffering for you." The porter they drank they called it their "Patrick's Pot."
