  1. After the time of the Landlords a half-fool of an Irishman went over to England. When he went to the city of London he met a cockney. The cockney said "Why don't you talk to your brother?"
    "Where is he? said Pat.
"Look at him" said the cockney pointing to an ass. Pat walked over to the ass and he put a small nail into the ear of the ass and the donkey went mad, and broke all the crockery ware that a jew was selling nearby.
Pat was arrested and brought before the court. When he was asked what did he do or say to the ass he said
"I told him" says Pat "we had our wrongs redressed
Our brave and noble Irishmen were no longer to be oppressed.
We've got rid of all bad landlords, Ireland to ourselves we have.
And when the donkey heard the news, begounies he went mad.
